TripAdvisor recently revealed its user rankings for best destinations in the U.S., with Chicago coming in at No. 2. Chicago surpassed San Francisco (No. 3) from last year and sits right behind New York, which took the top spot.

O'HARE, MIDWAY TO ADD MORE CUSTOMS, BORDER AGENTS

As a result of funding included in the omnibus appropriations bill earlier this year, 110 new U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers will be allocated to Chicago's airports. Chicago visitor numbers are steadily increasing, thus adding more officers will speed up customs processing times for international travelers.

AUTOMATED PASSPORT CONTROL ARRIVES AT MIDWAY

An innovative Automated Passport Control (APC) program has launched at Midway International Airport, using BorderXpress kiosk technology to help travelers move quicker through the U.S. customs clearance process. Developed by Vancouver International Airport (YVR), this technology mirrors its implementation at Chicago O'Hare International Airport in July 2013.
