NEW CERMAK CTA GREEN LINE STATION OPENS

A new near South Side CTA Green Line station opened February 9, 2015, delivering major service improvement for Motor Row and nearby McCormick Place. This addition to the CTA Green Line serves as a crucial, convenient transportation option for the Motor Row area, allowing rapid access transit for residents, businesses and visitors.

The new Cermak-McCormick Place Green Line stop will also service the forthcoming McCormick Place Entertainment District, a transformational redevelopment project on the McCormick Place campus, part of Elevate Chicago. A 40-story Marriott Marquis Chicago hotel and 10,000-seat event center are set to open in May and February 2017, respectively.

PCMA CONVENING LEADERS BREAKS RECORDS IN CHICAGO

Professional Convention Management Association's (PCMA) Convening Leaders conference broke an attendance record with 4,128 meeting planners and suppliers arriving in Chicago in January. Meeting professionals in attendance had plenty of engaging sessions to choose from during the day, from a PCMA Learning Lounge to the Five Speakers to Watch Series, creating a "personalized education roadmap."

O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT NAMED BEST IN NORTH AMERICA

O'Hare International Airport received the Global Traveler GT Reader Survey Award for Best Airport in North America for the 11th straight year. The survey polled businesses travelers between January and August 2014. This marks the 15th straight year that O'Hare has earned a "best airport" accolade by a leading travel magazine.

AMERICANS NAME CHICAGO ONE OF MOST BELOVED U.S. DESTINATIONS

In its second annual Cities We Love Survey, Hotels.com declared Chicago one of the country's most beloved U.S. destinations. Broken into four regions - Midwest, Northeast, Southern and Western - Chicago came out as the clear favorite in the Midwest, and is ranked sixth in the Hotels.com Hotel Price IndexTM (HPITM). Chicago was also picked as the Midwestern city Americans would most likely visit for the first time.

The survey was conducted by Google Consumer Surveys between January 15-17, 2015, each question sampling at least 1,000 unique, randomly sampled Internet users across the Google Consumer Surveys publisher network.
