Chicago's landmarks commission has approved the $575 million renovation to the home of the Chicago Cubs. The renovations include the addition of seven advertising signs and a video screen over the stadium's iconic ivy-covered outfield walls. The renovations also include additional seating and open spaces, with new group terraces with enclosed hospitality areas. A new Sheraton Hotel will also be built across the street from the ballpark.
Plans have been presented, as part of Navy Pier's "Centennial Vision," for a two-phase construction process that includes a complete overhaul of most of the attraction's exterior features. Renderings show a sleek, modern glass and steel exterior to some structures, and the plan also calls for the construction of a 225-room boutique hotel.
Chicago's CityPASS® recently launched a new mobile voucher pilot program for travelers. Those who purchase Chicago's CityPASS ticket booklets can now present their voucher on their smartphone or other mobile device at the first attraction they visit and receive their Chicago CityPASS booklets in return.
