Edie Glavey, appointed Choose Chicago's Vice President of Corporate Market Sales, has a proven track record of driving revenue growth and exceeding sales goals in the hotel meetings industry.
Glavey most recently served as Vice President of Regional Sales at Gaylord Entertainment. At Choose Chicago, Glavey is tasked with leading the bureau's Corporate team. She is focused on and responsible for bringing corporate meetings to Chicago for meetings held both at McCormick Place and in-house at partner hotels.
Hers is a newly created position to supplement the efforts already in place against the Association and For-Profit trade show markets.
Glavey has more than 29 years of experience as a sales executive and is a recognized leader of high-performing teams within the association, corporate and third party markets. From 1992-2012, Glavey held a number of positions at Gaylord, including Vice President and Executive Director of National Accounts. As Executive Director, Glavey and her team were awarded Gaylord Hotels Team of the Year in 2005, achieving 120 percent of their production quota. Glavey also won the Chairman's Award for Outstanding Leadership in 2004.
Prior to working at Gaylord Entertainment, Glavey served as a national sales manager at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Innisbrook and Tamarron Resorts, and The Krisam Group. Glavey graduated from the University of Iowa, earning her bachelor's degree in finance.
Glavey currently serves as a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), the Association Forum of Chicagoland, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
