Group Transportation Guide
From practical motor coaches to unexpected trolleys, there are tons of group transportation options in Chicago. Use this guide — complete with highlighted benefits and stand-out companies — before you book.
Motorcoaches and Charter Buses
Good for: Large groups
Big group? No problem. Chicago is home to some of the largest motorcoach fleets in North America. From massive, 70-passenger double-decker buses to school buses to mini-buses, there are plenty of options to accommodate both your group size and your budget. If you're concerned about parking, don't be. Chicago's essential motorcoach map is full of info like loading zones, free on-street day parking locations, pre-paid parking lots, helpful signage to look for throughout the city and more.

Good for: A unique mode of transportation; encouraging networking
If you're looking to wow your groups with a fun and whimsical way to get around the city, consider booking a trolley. Unlike motorcoaches, trolleys have an open seating set-up that encourages conversation and networking. In the warmer months, trolleys' open-air interiors let the breeze waft in while, during the winter, fully heated cabs provide groups with protection from the lakefront chill. Year-round, trolleys are a great way to give groups an unexpected twist in their transportation.
Good for: Going green and saving money
For smaller, adventurous groups, Chicago's public transit system can't be beat. The Chicago Transit Authority's eight 'L' lines connect the city via above-ground, street-level and subway trains and serve more than 140 stations all over town. Plus, 140 bus routes lace the city and stop every few blocks to get your groups where they need to be. Even better? The CTA offers Unlimited Ride Cards that you can purchase online in nearly any quantity you need, providing your visitors with the value and convenience that comes from choosing Chicago.

Good for: Door-to-door service for small groups
Whether you want to provide group transportation to or from Chicago's airports, hotels or attractions, a shuttle service can go where other transportation options can't. Luxury sedans, 10-passenger vans, town cars, stretch limousines, fully loaded limo buses, even water taxis — there are plenty of vehicles to pick from.
