GENERATE MEETING BUZZ AND INCREASE ATTENDANCE

Use these Chicago-specific video tips to capture attendees’ attention.

You've found the venue, picked the date, planned the theme and coordinated with caterers. Now it's time to get attendees excited about your event. Use these video tips to capture attendees' attention.

PRODUCE IT WITH PICTURES

If you're short on resources, your video doesn't have to have to involve much more than some stunning photos of Chicago and a great background song. Our photo library is filled with shots of Chicago's unique architecture, gorgeous river, recognizable attractions and seasonal highlights — they're all free and easy to download.

FEATURE YOUR SPEAKER

If your speaker is willing and able, inject some meeting-specific personality into the effort by producing a short, two- or three-minute video. Having a dynamic speaker in your video not only entertains the attendees, but it also gives them a preview of what they're in for when they arrive in Chicago.

USE EXISTING VIDEOS AND B-ROLL

Rather than creating your own video, you can borrow from our video library. Ten completed videos are available for downloading onto your desktop, embedding onto a website or emailing the link to attendees. Plus, the video library also has several three-minute B-roll videos, including one dedicated to McCormick Place. All are yours to use, free of charge.

USE HUMOR

Don't be afraid to be funny. One idea: Visitor vows. Show a video of attendees vowing things they will and will not do in Chicago. A few examples:

  • "I will not put ketchup on my hot dog."
  • "I will only refer to the football team as 'Da Bears.'"
  • "I will stand on The Ledge and conquer my fear of heights."
The final vow? "I will be a Chicagoan... for a [weekend/week]." As the final shot fades, the text that appears on the blank screen can be, "And what a [weekend/week] it will be. See you in Chicago on [your dates]."
