Make sure your visitors bring their running shoes. There's plenty to explore during a leisurely stroll or a fast-paced jaunt along Chicago's waterfront.

The Lakefront Trail (Ardmore Street to 71st Street)
Chicago's Lakefront Trail is a 19 mile (30 km) jogging and cycling path that offers scenic views of Chicago's spectacular skyline. The trail leads through some of Chicago's greatest green spaces, including Museum Campus, Burnham Park, Grant Park and Lincoln Park. The trail has convenient access from hotels throughout the city and is perfect for a morning run, walk or ride.

Bike and Roll Chicago (Multiple Locations)
Two wheelers and fun four-wheel group bikes are available for rent from Bike and Roll Chicago at several locations along the lakefront trail, including Millennium Park, Navy Pier and along Chicago's Riverwalk.

Visitors can enjoy a lively guided tour around the city or choose their own adventure with Bobby's Bike Hike. Your clients will love getting a little fresh air (and exercise!) while seeing the sights.

Divvy (Multiple Locations)
Divvy, Chicago's new bike share program, allows for quick connections along the lakefront and between the major attractions throughout downtown and the neighborhoods. With hundreds of stations across the city, this new transit system allows for convenient, on-demand use of bicycles, while allowing visitors to explore the city in a whole new way.



Swimming, kayaking, jet skiing - it's all available and conveniently located on Chicago's lakefront.

12th Street Beach (1200 S. Linn White Dr.)
This unique beach is located on the northern end of Northerly Island, a man made peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan, just south of the Adler Planetarium. A non-motorized boat launch is available at the beach, as well as a beach house. 

Chicago Water Sport Rentals (3155 S. Lake Shore Dr.)
There's no substitute for the thrill of riding a jet ski along beautiful Lake Michigan, and Chicago Water Sport Rentals is the place to experience this excitement. Visitors can not only rent a jet ski - they also can opt for flyboards, paddleboards, kayaks or even try a paddleboard yoga classes at the 31st Street Harbor headquarters. 

North Avenue Beach (1600 N. Lake Shore Dr.)
Chicago's lakefront contains 15 miles (24 km) of beaches, which all are open to the public during summer months. Head to one of the city's most popular beaches with a trip to North Avenue Beach, which offers beautiful skyline views and rental options for beach volleyball courts, paddle boards, kayaks and more.
