360 CHICAGO ANNOUNCES DEBUT OF TILT

360 CHICAGO (formerly John Hancock Observatory) announced a new attraction that will change the way visitors see Chicago. TILT, debuting in late April, is an enclosed, glass and steel moveable platform that holds up to eight visitors per cycle. Once visitors are inside, the platform slowly tilts outward at an angle, providing downward-facing views of Chicago from one thousand feet in the air.

GOODMAN THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2014/2015 SEASON

Goodman Theatre announced its 90th anniversary "season to celebrate" for 2014/2015, consisting of a line-up of new and contemporary works on its two stages. The milestone season starts with an unprecedented three-month celebration of plays in every stage of development in the New Stages festival, running September through November 2014. Goodman Theatre will also showcase three premieres by acclaimed female playwrights, and team up with The Second City and Albany Park Theater Project on collaborative works.

LAGUNITAS TO OPEN TAPROOM IN MAY

California-based Lagunitas Brewing Co. opened its Chicago facility at 18th and Rockwell to service the Midwest and East Coast. The brew house will soon open a 300-seat TapRoom. It will have a kitchen and swag store, and will also feature live music acts Wednesday through Sunday. The TapRoom will also be the departure point for brewery tours.

CHICAGO NABS 11 JAMES BEARD NOMINATIONS

The James Beard Foundation announced the 2014 finalists for its annual awards, and 11 Chicago restaurants, chefs and bars made the list. One Off Hospitality Group LLC scored four nominations, the most in Chicago. Donnie Madia earned a nomination for Outstanding Restaurateur; while Blackbird's David Posey is up for Rising Star Chef and Dana Cree is a finalist for Outstanding Pastry Chef. The Purple Pig's Jimmy Bannos Jr. is also up for Rising Star Chef. The Violet Hour earned a nomination for Outstanding Bar Program. The Best Chef, Great Lakes category includes four Chicago chefs, Spiaggia is a finalist for Outstanding Restaurant and Topobolampo is nominated for Outstanding Service.

LAKE SHORE DRIVE MAKES LIST OF MOST SCENIC WATERSIDE DRIVES IN AMERICA

Travel & Leisure Magazine named Lake Shore Drive to its list of America's Most Scenic Waterside Drives. The publication recognized the 16-mile stretch of road along Lake Michigan for its stunning views, nearby attractions and thousands of beautiful flowers in bloom along Lake Shore during the spring.

SEADOG SPEEDBOAT CRUISES OFFER CRUISES, ALTERNATIVE DOCKING

Seadog, Chicago's premier speedboat, started offering three cruises on April 1, and also announced new alternative docking at Marina City, located near The House of Blues and many Chicago hotels. Passengers can take a tour of the Chicago skyline on a 30-minute Lakefront Speedboat tour, or enjoy an informative ride on the fully narrated 75-minute River and Lake Architectural Tour or take a ride on the water rollercoaster, Seadog Extreme. The additional docking location at Marina City offers a completely customizable service ideal for large groups looking for a different way to get to and from Navy Pier.
