    NEWCITY DEVELOPMENT OPENS IN LINCOLN PARK

    NewCity has been touted as a "neighborhood within a neighborhood," and it's easy to see why. This 8.5-acre retail, dining and entertainment district in Lincoln Park is a $265 million project boasting 360,000 square feet of retail space, a one-acre landscaped outdoor plaza, a 200-unit residential tower and much more.     COMFORT AMENITIES OPEN AT O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

    O'Hare International Airport recently added two new facilities for additional comfort while traveling, including a Mother's Room, which offers a clean and comfortable space for nursing mothers. This space is located past security in Terminal 5 near Gate M14. 

     For passengers traveling with service animals or pets, a new pet relief room opened past security checkpoints in the rotunda area of Terminal 3, offering pet-friendly features such as artificial grass and miniature fire hydrants, as well as pet-owner amenities such as plastic bags and sinks for washing up.

    GLOBAL ENTRY PROGRAM EXPANDED FOR U.K. CITIZENS

    Global Entry, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Trusted Traveler Program, recently expanded to allow expedited clearance of pre-approved, low-risk travelers from the United Kingdom. Global Entry currently is available at 46 U.S. airports and 13 pre-clearance locations.

    NEW MAJOR RETAILERS OPEN DOWNTOWN

    The Loop recently gained two new stores for the fashion forward. Nike's new Michael Jordan store has sneakerheads flocking to State Street to stock up on unique and customizable footwear. On the second floor of the store, local students can use the onsite basketball half-court and the workout area. 

    Meanwhile, global fashion company Uniqlo opened its 60,000-square-foot flagship store - the company's first Midwest location - on Chicago's famed retail area: The Magnificent Mile. Occupying three floors, the affordable and casual apparel brand will offer men's, women's and children's clothing and serve as a major shopping destination, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

    RICHARD SANDOVAL'S 20,000-SQ.-FT. LATINICITY FOOD HALL OPENS

    Celebrity chef Richard Sandoval unveiled his 22,000-square-foot food hall concept in the Block 37 retail complex: a collection of 12 distinct kitchens featuring Latin street food-inspired dishes, a coffee cafe, tapas restaurant, full bar, market and lounge.

    AON CENTER TO ADD OBSERVATORY

    The new owner of this 83-story office tower recently announced a multi-million dollar plan to upgrade the building, which includes adding an observatory that will overlook Millennium Park.
