$110 MILLION RENOVATIONS UNVEILED HYATT MCCORMICK PLACE

Hyatt Regency McCormick Place announced that its multi-million dollar expansion and renovation project is complete. The hotel's owner, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA), has invested $110 million in the total renovation of the hotel, now Hyatt's fourth largest hotel in the world and the fourth largest hotel in Chicago. The renovations provide a new guestroom tower, renovated outlets (including Shor restaurant, M/X lounge and the Daily Grind), meetings and public space. In partnership with McCormick Place Convention Center, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place can confirm short-term in-house meetings into the largest collection of first class meeting space in the Western Hemisphere.

MAYOR ANNOUNCES RECORD HOTEL PERFORMANCE 

Mayor Emanuel and Choose Chicago announced that Chicago's regional advertising campaign promoting leisure travel to Chicago during the winter season contributed to record hotel performance and significant new tax revenues during the first four months of 2013. Choose Chicago has launched an 11-week campaign in seven markets to help drive visitation to Chicago during the summer season. This is the second consecutive year that Choose Chicago has implemented such a campaign to drive visitation from key drive markets to Chicago during the winter and summer seasons.

O'HARE/MIDWAY OFFER FREE WI-FI ACCESS

The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), in partnership with Boingo, has unveiled a free Wi-Fi portal called The Good Stuff that allows visitors at O'Hare and Midway International Airports to have unlimited, free access to some of the most popular sites on the web. Designed specifically for O'Hare and Midway, the Boingo portal allows users complimentary access to over 30 top sites for news, weather, shopping, entertainment, banking, travel and tourism, as well as local contact information.

JAZZIN' AT THE SHEDD SUMMER EVENTS ANNOUNCED

The Shedd Aquarium has announced their Jazzin' at the Shedd Summer Events. On Wednesday evenings, June 26­-Sept.4, 2013, hear live music from Chicago musicians playing a range of jazz to funk, while guests enjoy beverages, fresh air and the views of the city skyline from the terraces. The Shedd offers extended hours to visit the Abbott Oceanarium, Jellies special exhibit and Polar Play Zone which will be open until 8 p.m., Wild Reef will be open until 9 p.m., and the aquarium galleries, along with the terraces, will stay open until 10 p.m.  Ticket Prices: Adults: $18; Children (ages 3-11):  $16; Shedd members: Free Guests can include the Stingray Touch experience for $5 a person, or $3 a member.
