9 New Meeting Venues

The last year in Chicago has been a busy one, as special event venues, hotels and convention facilities have sprouted up throughout the city and suburbs. Here are nine new spaces to add to your list of great meeting venues in Chicago.


1. PUBLIC Chicago

Opened: Oct. 2011
Sleek and sophisticated, Ian Schrager's PUBLIC Chicago features 8,600 square feet of dedicated event spaces that can be set in a variety of styles, including boardroom, classroom, u-shape, rounds, theater or reception. With several meetings rooms, spacious banquet rooms and a 17th-floor meeting room with an expansive terrace (pictured above), PUBLIC Chicago offers you the ultimate in versatility and unique views that will have your attendees talking.

2. ARTrevolution

Opened: Feb. 2011
For an eclectic, intimate space, turn to ARTrevolution in Chicago's artful Pilsen neighborhood. This new gallery venue is a 6,500-square-foot loft with hardwood floors, high ceilings, exposed brick and walls of windows that allow for plenty of natural light. Original artwork and black chandeliers greet your attendees and add colorful character to this creative space.

3. Pritzker Military Library

Opened: Spring 2011
After moving to its new location in the Loop, Pritzker Military Library has become a venue known not only for its blend of historic ambiance and state-of-the-art technology, but also its stunning views over Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park. Choose from two fully equipped conference rooms, the spacious gallery or the two-story lecture hall, and give your attendees a meeting experience they won't soon forget.

4. Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago

Opened: Nov. 2011
Radisson Blu is the upper-upscale tier of the hotel brand and this particular hotel marks its first and only location in the United States. It has more than 27,000 square feet of event space, including a beautiful ballroom with views overlooking a six-acre park and outdoor terrace from the 20-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows. Plus, Radisson Blu has 14 configurable meeting rooms ranging from 612 to more than 8,000 square feet.

5. Greenhouse Loft

Opened: Nov. 2011
Located in the west-side neighborhood of Logan Square, this 3,500-square-foot LEED Platinum event space fits up to 250 people in its loft space, which featured floor-to-ceiling windows and an 8,000-square-foot organic sky garden.

6. DuPage Expo Center

Recently Renovated
Trade shows and events have a new home at the DuPage Expo Center, with its 23,000-square-feet of column-free carpeted space, ample free parking and on-site professional staff. The adjacent Pheasant Run Resort and Spa, and Hilton Garden Inn also offer additional event space if needed, plus convenient accommodations for your attendees.

7. Columbian Room at the Museum of Science & Industry

Opened: Early 2011
Indulge the imagination with a myriad of vibrant exhibits and dramatic event spaces, including the new Columbian Room at the Museum of Science & Industry. The Columbian Room is available during regular museum hours and may be set up for classroom seating, roundtable discussions, lectures or luncheon meetings for up to 200 people (120 seated).

8. Quay Restaurant & Bar

Opened: July 2011
A quay is a waterfront structure used for loading and unloading ships; knowing this, it's no surprise that a meeting at Quay Restaurant & Bar will bring your attendees in touch with their inner seafarers. For groups of up to 600, Quay offers a variety of settings both indoor and out, including the Atrium Lounge with its gorgeous river views, al fresco dining on the dock and even private events on a 56-foot yacht, complete with your own captain.

9. Room 1520's Aérée Loft

Elegant, airy and bright, Aérée Loft is a space draped in drama, from its 16-foot-tall glass entryway to 17 Italian crystal chandeliers within. The space totals 5,000 square feet and is a white, blank slate that can be transformed into whatever world best suits your event style.
