CHICAGO MEETING ADVICE - SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS MEETINGS

Learn how to make social consciousness a cornerstone of their Chicago meetings

Your show can make a difference. Here's how a few organizations have made social consciousness a cornerstone of their Chicago meetings.

TRUE VALUE: DONATED UNUSED ITEMS

Following its show, True Value donated unused items and materials to Special Children's Charities, the Special Olympics of Chicago and the Chicago Park District. Choose Chicago Ambassadors and hospitality volunteers packed the materials, transferring them from McCormick Place by the truckload.

NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION: DONATED FOOD

The National Restaurant Association donated more than 37,000 meals to the Greater Chicago Food Depository after its conference in 2011.

ACE HARDWARE: DONATED PRODUCTS

Following its show this year, exhibitors donated products from their exhibit booths — tools, cleaning supplies, paint, lawn and garden products, etc. — to ReStore Elgin, which sells new and used building materials to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. Eleven trailers loaded with items were gathered, packed and transported by Choose Chicago Ambassdors and volunteers.
