Sounds of China: A Chinese New Year Celebration

A collaborative effort between the National Chinese Traditional Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Chinese Fine Arts Society, this concert at the Symphony Center showcases an exciting infusion of Chinese folk music and traditional instruments with contemporary Chinese music and western classical music.

Eye-catching lion dancers will beat their drums to scare away evil spirits and bring good luck for the Year of the Sheep.

This family-friendly extravaganza inside The Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier features dance, music, multi-arts performances and a marketplace showcasing Chinese cultural vendors and artisans. Attendees even can make their own crafts, with calligraphy, paper cutting and lantern making stations.
