Stand before a massive pair of 11,000-year-old Irish elk antlers, gaze upon hill after hill of green Irish countryside in a dedicated landscapes gallery, and marvel at the craftsmanship in the collection of silver antiques. In the first exhibit of its kind, visitors can explore the rich arts and culture of 18th century Ireland through perusing 300 pieces ranging from paintings and ceramics to musical instruments and furniture.

Learn all about the history of The Magnificent Mile, the now-famous stretch of North Michigan Avenue brought to life by real estate developer Arthur Rubloff, who envisioned it as a hotbed for fashion, style and retail. With more than 20 fabulous ensembles from design icons such as Christian Lacroix, Yohji Yamamoto and Chanel, this costume and textile exhibit offers a glamorous peek into Chicago's past and present.

Explore the epic world of the Vikings, from fierce voyagers to skilled craftsmen to savvy tradespeople, in this extensive exhibit featuring more than 500 artifacts. With the use of interactive features, visitors can get an in-depth glimpse into the lives of these early Scandinavians, as they spell a name in runes, feel the weight of an accurate Viking Age sword replica, learn about Norse mythology and play a Scandinavian board game.

With beautiful Lake Michigan as a natural backdrop, children will have a view of boats moored along Navy Pier as they play and learn in the custom-made exhibit, Boats. Real boats and boating equipment, imaginative costumes, maritime décor and functional safety props all come together for a realistic learning experience.

From tiny frogs to a Japanese salamander nearly four feet long, this special exhibit at the Shedd Aquarium will delve deeper into the world of fascinating amphibians, showcasing these complex creatures in more than 30 habitats, while allowing visitors to learn more about their diversity, behaviors and adaptations.

This national touring exhibit supported by Google presents a visionary world where humans can see - and interact with - rare robot technology. This new permanent collection explores thousands of years of Chinese history, from political upheaval and global commerce to spiritual ideals and cultural traditions. Go backstage to learn the secrets of Chinese shadow puppet theater, and don't miss the rare opportunity to scroll through a 27-foot-long hand-painted scroll depicting the picturesque Qingming festival.
