Sheddheads have Shedd on the brain – Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium, that is.
Fans of Shedd have their own web site at www.sheddheads.org where they can share great moments of their exciting visits to “the world’s aquarium.” This interactive photo and video sharing site - the first of its kind for any zoo or aquarium in the United States – invites guests to post favorite clips and photos from their experiences at the aquarium, whether they happened yesterday or 77 years ago.
Enthusiasts can exchange great Shedd moments and view remarkable experiences by other Sheddheads.
Sheddheads.org is easy to use. Just register at the site to immediately browse amazing photos, creative videos and quirky moments captured by fellow Sheddheads or to post your own clips and pix. Regular contests engage site visitors to compete for a variety of great prizes
Special note: Oceanarium Renovation
Between September 2008 and early summer 2009, Shedd’s Oceanarium will be closed during a renovation which Shedd promises will be “as breathtaking in scope as it is in speed.”
The aquarium will remain open – every day except Christmas - throughout the Oceanarium renovation so visitors can continue to see more than 25,000 animals in the aquarium galleries, the Caribbean Reef, Amazon Rising and Wild Reef, enjoy exciting features in the 4-D Theater, and experience new animal encounters, never-before-offered behind-the-scenes tours, and many other entertaining and educational programs designed for the whole family.
